Barana Saadat, born in Tehran, Iran, in 1991, holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. She began her professional painting career in 2009, focusing on oil painting as her chosen medium.

Barana has participated in numerous group exhibitions both within Iran and internationally. In 2018, she received recognition by winning the prestigious NordArt Festival Prize.

Her work is deeply influenced by psychological and anthropological themes. Through her art, she seeks to explore psychological contradictions, utilizing symbolic representations of animals and objects alongside expressive faces and figures. These contradictions often stem from “imposed sufferings,” such as sexism and the “strong desire to live an authentic life.”
